ATHLETE AMBASSADORS

Fencing in the Schools Athlete Ambassadors are chosen for their fencing skills and for their commitment to being positive role models, their passion for working with children and youth, and their ability to communicate the Olympic Ideals.

Tim Morehouse (Saber)

Olympic Medalist, World Cup Medalist, Pan American Champion, National Champion, All-American

Tim is an Olympic silver medalist in fencing (’08 Beijing Games), two-time individual U.S. National Champion (’10 and ’11), 7-time world cup medalist and #1-ranked U.S. men’s saber fencer from 2008- 2011. He has spoken to over 30,000 students since the Beijing Games in 2008,  and has held hundreds of assemblies and clinics.

Dagmara Wozniak (Saber)

Olympian, World Championships Medalist, World Cup Medalist, Pan American Champion, All-American

Dagmara is a 2-time Olympic Team member and competed in the London 2012 Olympic Games, making the quarterfinals. She is ranked #2 in the USA and top-12 in the world. She is a 3x World Championship Team Bronze Medalist (’11, ’12, and ’13), U.S. National Champion, and 4-time NCAA All-American. She graduated from St John’s University and trains at the Manhattan Fencing Center.

NZINGHA PRESCOD (FOIL)

Olympian, Grand Prix Champion, Pan American Champion

Nzingha competed for the United States at the 2012 London Olympic Games. She hails from the well-regarded Peter Westbrook Foundation, an organization dedicated to bringing the art of fencing to the inner-city youth of New York. She has been fencing since she was nine years old. In 2008 and 2009, she won the Cadet World Championship. In 2009, Nzingha also qualified for her first U.S. Senior World Championship Team, and has represented the United States at ever Senior World Championships since.   In 2011, she won the Junior World Championships. Nzingha is a Senior at Columbia University.

DARYL HOMER (SABER)

Olympian, World Cup Medalist, Pan American Champion, National Champion, All-American

Daryl competed in the 2012 London Olympic Games and made the quarterfinals, upsetting the world #1 ranked Alexey Yakimenko in the process.  Originally from St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, Daryl has been on the U.S. Senior National Team since 2009.  He was was a member of the U.S. Junior and Cadet national teams from 2007 to 2010, and won a Bronze medalist at both the 2007 and 2010 championships.  He was also a Gold medalist at the 2011 Pan American Championships and 2010 and 2011 NCAA Fencing Champion.  Daryl trains at the Manhattan Fencing Center and is currently ranked #14 in the world. He graduated from St. John’s University.
